Happy May long weekend everyone! And happy Mother’s Day – okay, a week late lol. We were away in Whistler last week so missed toasting all the fab moms out there. This episode is for you! It includes my personal fav – Prosecco!Here’s the recipes:Hugo Spritz Cocktail v1:1 oz St. Germain2 oz Prosecco2 oz Club Soda10 Mint leavesIce¼ tsp Lime juiceAdd St. Germain to a wine glass. Add mint leaves and muddle until ‘woke up’. Add Prosecco and ice. Stir in lime juice. Top with club soda. Garnish with lime wheel.Hugo Spritz Cocktail v2: (we liked this better!!!)1 oz St. Germain4 oz Prosecco2 oz Soda water6 Mint leaves½ Lime cut into piecesMuddle the mint leaves with the lime pieces in a wine glass. Add St. Germain, Prosecco, club soda and ice. Stir and enjoy! Garnish with a sprig of mint.Gin Hugo:Add 1 oz Gin to v2 above! This was delicious!!Have a fabulous rest of your long weekend everyone!! Happy Sunday everyone! It’s also May 4th – so of course May the fourth be with you 😊 Coming from our coffee deck aka another catio – which, thinkin we need to trim some trees for water views again. Today’s cocktail is inspired by Cinco de Mayo – May 5th! It’s a Chi Chi Rodriguez – apparently some golf guy from the 70s said John. Here’s the recipe:Chi Chi Rodriguez Cocktail1.5 oz Blanco (we used Reposado) tequila½ oz Lime juice½ oz Passion fruit½ oz Vanilla syrup (1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup water, ½ tbs Vanilla extract)½ oz Ancho Reyes Verde Poblano liqueurPour all ingredients into shaker with ice. Shake until cold, strain and pour into an old fashioned glass with ice that is rimmed with Tajin spice. John put in one jalapeno slice. Chi Chi Rodriguez Mocktail2.5 oz Passion fruit½ oz Lime juice1 oz Vanilla syrup Pour all ingredients into shaker with ice. Shake until cold, strain and pour into an old fashioned glass with ice that is rimmed with Tajin spice and top with soda water. Don’t dump your wine over … like I did lol. This week’s cocktails are construction themed: Rusty Nail and a Galvanized Nail (John’s picks - apparently he finds both at his construction sites with the rusty ones in his equipment 😊We’re enjoying the glorious weather and the fabulous nature – lovin being in the outdoors again!!Here’s the recipes:Rusty Nail2 oz Scotch Whiskey 1 oz DrambuieStir with ice and strain into an old fashioned glass with ice. Express the oil from a piece of lemon zest and use the lemon piece as a garnish.Galvanized Nail1.5 Scotch Whiskey½ oz Drambuie½ oz Lemon juice½ oz Apple juice½ oz Elderflower liqueur (St. Germain)Shake ingredients with ice and dirty dump into an old fashioned glass with ice. Happy Easter weekend everyone! We have treats in store for you this time! Two cocktails and one absolutely delicious mocktail aka shake that tastes like peanut butter cups! (my fav!) John’s lovin the bunny ears 😊Here’s the recipes:Peanut Butter Cup White Russian2 oz Vodka1 oz of Screwball Whiskey (this is peanut butter whiskey and its really good!)1oz of KahulaShake with ice and pour into a glass rimmed with peanut butter and chocolate sprinkles. We tried this at first with cream as well – don’t do that! Keep it just as is – its good!!Peanut Butter Cup Cocktail1.5 oz of Screwball Whiskey¾ oz of Baileys Irish Cream¾ oz CreamPince of sea salt (optional)Shake with ice and pour into a glass rimmed with peanut butter and chocolate sprinkles.Peanut Butter Cup Mocktail (aka shake)Large scoop of vanilla ice creamHandful of Reese’s mini peanut butter cupsSplash (1/3 cup) of milkCombine in blender and mix until smooth. Happy Sunday everyone! What a gorgeous day! In honour of that we’re whipping up an Orange Rhubarb Margarita cocktail and an Orange Rhubarb Spritz mocktail.Been an action-packed weekend. We went to an Edgar Allen Poe Speakeasy event that had four performances of four of his works combined with four cocktails – all delivered in 90 minutes! Well, that was fun!!!
