Desperado (Garlic Martini)
This is from our Gross Sounding Drinks episode but I have to say – it's absolutely delicious! If you love garlic – you're gonna love this martini. The smoke salt/pepper rim just makes it so yummy!
Ingredients
- 2 oz garlic infused-tequila recipe follows
- .5 oz dry vermouth we used Esquimalt Wine Company
- .5 oz garlic stuff olive brine
- 1 tsp smoked salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 lemon slice for rim of glass
- 1 pickled onions
Instructions
- Mix smoked salt and pepper together on a small plate; Rim a coupe or martini glass with a lemon and then the salt and pepper mixture. Set aside.
- Combine tequila, vermouth and olive brine in a shaker filled with ice. Shake until very cold, about 20 seconds. Double strain into the rimmed glass. Garnish with pickled onions.
- To create garlic-infused tequila: Combine 1 cup silver tequila and 4 cloves of garlic, peeled and slightly smashed. Allow the mixture to steep overnight, at least 12 hours and no more than 24. Strain through a fine mesh strainer. Store in airtight container for up to a month.
